To Grandma's house we go!

Here we go to Grandma's house
To Grandma's house
To Grandma's house
Here we go to Grandma's house
All day long!

This was a silly little song my sisters and I sang going to Grandma's house when we were little and one I'm sure Emma will sing one day too!

A very long trip down and back with Papa to spend mom's birthday. We had a great time visiting with Aunt Lisa, Uncle Mark, Jacob, and Amy.

Then best of all...we had the chance for the cousins to meet for the first time! What a fun time they had looking at each other and hanging out. We had a great time and cannot wait to play with Rebecca and Zachary again soon!

Happy Birthday Mr.

What could be better than a one-year-old birthday party?

Only if the birthday boy is your future boyfriend! Emma celebrated with Angelo for his big day.

There was a bbq, cake, and cupcakes that were smashed to pieces by the man of the hour!
We had a great time hanging out with our friends and celebrating Mr's big day!

Our trip to SLO

What a long trip down to SLO but an even longer one on the way back
as we were stuck in traffic for over an hour
and finally had to pull over and feed Emma!
Besides the long drive with the two of us,
we had such an amazing time visiting with Kristin and Beau and of course the cousins!
We started with Beau's installation service which was amazing and funny at the same time. Congrats Beau!

We had a great time visiting with the cousins as Eden kept saying how pretty Emma is.Isn't that what every mom wants to hear!

Eden and Asher were great with Emma and we look forward to many more visits...
hopefully Emma wot get stepped on...again!
As for Auntie Kristin, she had s hard time staying awake when
Emma was fast asleep in her arms. It reminds me of my naps with Eden after
she was born. Kristin was great and Beau took on the biggest challenge of all...
to watch Emma for an hour with a dirty diaper and
not a very happy camper!
Thanks Beau...hopefully the beer made up for it!
Mom and Papa were there too and it was great
to have Emma spit up all over Grandma to the point
where she had to change shoes...sorry mom!
It's always a blast to see Papa and he was such a big help
carrying Emma's car seat which gets a little heavier each day.
We had lots of fun and cannot wait to see them again soon.
We had such a great time and look forward to seeing
them all soon for Thanksgiving. Thanks for the hospitality sis!

Our Firsts!

Emma has had many new experiences in the past few weeks.
First Emma went to the beach for the very first time
and although it was very cold;
she didn't fuss even when Kinsey and Bella barked
as they were delighted to get out and run around!
It was a fun time and soon followed by yet another first...

...It was another first that day as we went to the pumpkin patch!
Emma was having a great time until her mommy decieded
to place her lying in the pumpkins for the perfect picture!
As you can see... we had to keave there shortly after.
It was a great day and we live each day
as Emma experiences the world for the first time.
We look forward to many more firsts and hope that they are all
filled with as much fun as this day was!

27 days and counting...

It has now been 27 days with Princess Emma and I cannot believe that time flies by so quickly.
It feels like it was yesterday that she was just arriving...
although forgetting her birth has not yet faded away!

I am so happy to be at home and spending time with her that nothing seems to faze me.
I found out my sub is way behind schedule...don't care
I started going back to cheer practice and dealing with teenage drama...don't care
The only thing that I truly care about is this little Princess that has turned my life upside down.
She makes every day a new adventure,
especially as we went out in the torrential downpour of rain on Tuesday!
It was our first day all alone at home and it was a wet rainy day.

My favorite part of the day is early in the morning when
Emma wakes up and smiles at me for what seems like days.
It is about the only time when our connection as mother and daughter
seems real and just melts my heart.

We have both been getting out of the house a little more often,
but oh my does it take a lot of planing and effort!
I always expected it to be hard to pack her up and go,
but it is going somewhere at a specific time that is the tough part.
I now have to schedule my day around when she eats and how far I have to go.
I'm sure all moms are laughing as this knowing the stresses but this is total shock to me.

And so my day goes on...and Emma will soon be 4 weeks old.
I just hope things continue to go well and Emma stays just as
perfect as she has been from day one.

Emma is here!

I am finally able to write and say that my princess Emma has arrived!
She was born on 9-19-09 at 6:17 pm! She was 7lbs. 10oz. and 20 inches long...ouch!
I went through the entire labor without drugs...but it was no picnic. Although it was a mere 12 hours, I made it and have a gorgeous daughter to show for it.
I never thought that it would be so easy to fall in love, but from the moment those big eyes peered into mine, it was love at first sight.
We both had a rough start as Emma was whisked away after birth to the nicu as she was having problems breathing due to the cord wrapped around her stomach. As for me...I went through really bad hemorrhaging and lost a LOT of blood. I then was stuck in a hospital bed for the rest of my lovely stay at the hospital till the following Tuesday.
I have now been home almost a week and Emma has been keeping us busy as well as lots of visitors! Bella and Kinsey are slowing adjusting to the very loud crying baby that has come into their lives, but are doing well. Robert has been a big help during the day and continues to make me melt every time he holds Emma and kisses her. I did mention during the day...night time is mommy time and daddy is off in slumber land! I am excited to see how Emma continues to grow and change and have a goal to take at least one picture of her every day for a year. So far, so good! I am so blessed to have the next eleven weeks just to be with her and cannot imagine leaving her for a moment at this point.
All in all, we are so excited and so happy to have our family now complete and although Robert mentioned a second child...I am happy with just one!

The Waiting Game

I am patiently waiting for the arrival of Emma Grace. Robert and I are hoping to become parents today as 9-9-09 would be a cool and easy to remember birthday! As I am still teaching at the moment I am eager to leave these kids behind and see my own. Soon I will probably be wishing that I was back to having Emma where I could take her and do whatever I wanted. I have my bags packed, numbers on speed dial and just waiting for Emma to make her appearance. Most ask if I am nervous, and although pushing a watermelon out does not excite me, I am prepared and ready to take on the challenge head first! (Sorry for the pun!) I am looking forward to keeping up with this blog as my sister Kristin is my inspiration to do this. What better way to keep in touch and let my friends and family see what's going on? With all my time off, twelve weeks, I have to do something to pass the time, right? Life will soon be changing and I am ready for it! Lets just pray that Robert is just as prepared! Still counting...
